Hi there!

I’m so glad you stopped by it’s truly nice to meet you. I’m CathyAnn a true New Yorker born and raised. I’m married with two grown children and I’ve worked hard my whole life. I have dealt with digestive issues since for as along as I could remember. My issues with food have always consumed my life.  I’m blogging to share those experiences with food, lifestyle, hormones and health. Oh why stop there?  My Celiac, my stress, and my struggles. It all contributes to my well-being and that includes my happiness. How I interact and accept my issues allows me to feel better and ultimately live better. Like I mentioned one of my biggest struggles is with food or food I should I say having food agree with me. Ever since I started to follow that necessary gluten free diet and FODMAPIsh lifestyle, life is good. I’m aging more gracefully, I am happier and even healthier. That funny sounding acrynom, fodmap is life changing. It’s a very big part of me today. It helps many of us who have food issues that come from intolerances and/or allergies.

I feel like I’ve been waiting my whole life to turn 50. Really! I’ve never been adverse to aging. I know that’s sound weird to some of you. I truly believe it’s a result of my attitude, lifestyle and my personal journey. As I go on I want to have life better and better. I enjoy sharing and expect my journey to continue with growth and happiness.

Taking charge of your life will free you. And that exactly what I’ve been doing. Never have I been more restricted by food but never have I been more freed by food. I know what makes me feel better and what makes me sick. I make choices now through my experiences and wisdom. I want to share what I have acquired and I want to learn more from those with similar experiences.

Although I live in the big city, it doesn’t feel that way to me. It never has. NYC is made up of  so many small neighborhoods. Little gems where everyone is connected and you really get a sense of community. Now, it helps that I grew up with my dad owning the popular neighborhood tavern. Sadly my dad is no longer with us but I’m proud to say we still own and operate that very same tavern. I also work as a special education teacher assistant which brings me lots of joy.

So all in all, I’m really here to share what I love in life. I also want to exchange thoughts and gather information about things I enjoy. I’m also interested in what you enjoy. I do expect everyone to be courteous when visiting but encourage you to leave your honest comments. My blog is obviously filled with my opinions but I love to see and hear from the other side. Respect for all here.

So NO worries!

The loves of my life…

In no particular order, I love them all. My husband, my children, my niece, family, my bff and lil man Jonas ❤️

Lets all live, eat and share FODMAPish and always gluten free of course 😉

  2. Hi CathyAnn, it’s nice to meet you! Sounds like we’re at about the same stage in life… I’ve been married almost 27 years and have two daughters in their 20s. I write about mental health, anxiety and panic attacks in particular. Take care, Jenny

  3. So nice to meet you. Yes, we are pretty similar in life. I have a boy and girl in their twenties. I’m somewhat familiar with mental too. I work at a day treatment program program with special ed students. My daughter gets terrible panic attacks too. I will be sure to follow your blog closely. She has chronic pain from rheumatoid and a very sick father, my husband. It not hard to understand why she gets the panic attacks but she manages ok. Btw. My husband is finally making a recovery after many years of being sick. Thx, talk to you soon and be well. X

  4. I’m sorry about your daughter getting panic attacks. My daughter did too, her symptoms started when she was 10. Thankfully, she rarely ever gets them anymore. I’m glad to hear your husband is doing better, such a blessing!

  6. Thanks for stopping by at my blog! Looking forward to share some celiac experience and recipes. I was diagnosed with celiac only 2 months ago, but the torture has been going on for many years before that. I also have fibromyalgia and depression and I’m on a crusade to get better. Happy to hear the new diet worked miracles for you. All the best!

  9. I know all about celiac :(. To think that just 10 years ago some nurses working in the medical offices hadn’t heard of it and even some doctors weren’t familiar with it! Well thank god time has changed and you can find so many gluten free products everywhere 🙂

  10. Yes, exactly and I appreciate your understanding. I spent most my life thinking I had a terrible stomach with no one able to figure it out. I grew up in a crazy Italian family that would laugh saying Ahh she ate too much, lmao. No one had any knowledge of Celiac . Life is better now 😊. Thx for stopping by and commenting. Be well. X

  13. HI, CathyAnn! Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking my post on going gluten-free. I am enjoying my visit to yours. I went to school in NY for a year, many years ago. Commuted across the GW Bridge. It’s a great city. Nice that you have a multi-generation business there. I think you learn a lot of life lessons that way.
